Observations from DevReach day 2

The day startet out with a keynote where Tim Huckaby took us through at brief history of computing and user interfaces. He demonstrated how the kinect could be used for touch-less UI and also showed av video with mind-controlled software. Very fascinating.

In the HTML5 department Todd Anglin told about backwards compatibility using poly fills and helper tools like Modernizr. A lot of demos are available from htmlui.com/demos.html

Phil @skimedic told about unit testing – there was really nothing new here, but it was a good session, and it never hurt to get a brush-up on best practises.

Scott Hanselman told about how to handle “Information Overload” in day-to-day work. a really serious and fun talk, that I will recommend to anyone ever feeling overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you have to deal with.

Plus I got show off my MyVoices.com polo-shirt, which I thought to be appropriate since MyVoices.com uses Telerik‘s Silverlight controls and Telerik is the main sponsor of DevReach.
